Wine tasting is all about context. We have to explore and understand the context behind the wines we're drinking to truly understand them. That means knowing which part of the world they came from, what style the wine maker was going for, and what other wines might compare. When a movie reviewer goes to review a movie (if they know what they're doing), they won't review it in a vacuum, they'll review it in the context of the genre the movie belongs in. So if we're reviewing a documentary, we're going to compare it to other documentaries, not to our favorite action/adventure film! With wine, we need to give the same courtesy to what's being poured into our glass. That's why we're introducing a new Wine Class series for the fall that explores the context behind Colorado Wines. What other, world-class wines are being made out there in climates similar to Palisade's? or Paonia's? Only when we truly understand what the best of the best have done in similar climates can we begin to understand the future of Colorado Wine. Bread and cheese will be served with each class. Fee includes wine, food, handouts and tuition. Sign up for this class individually for $50/person.
