Description
This fun, “laid back”, recreational road ride is considered an easier ride with one big hill and the rest of the course being rolling to flat. The ride is similar to events like the Elephant Rock, and does not stop at each winery as they are busy preparing for winefest activites. An aid station is available at Carlson Vineyards (approximately half way through the course) which features famous “Palisade Peaches” from Talbott Farms. A light “brunch” consisting of black bean/rice pasta salad, roll, grapes and Enstrom candy will be served until 11:15 am at which time the course support and food service closes. The event does not offer a “gluten free” option. Free showers are available until 11:45 am at which time the pool will be closed. The Start & Finish is located in Palisade, CO at Peach Bowl Park (take exit 42 off I-70 and go south less than a mile to 5th and Elberta). The ride begins between the hours of 7-8 am (start at your leisure during this time frame but before 8 am to avoid the winefest traffic which begins later in the morning). FREE SHOWERS ARE AVAILABLE at the pool in the park (you bring towels, soap, etc). Shuttle buses for winefest activites will be also be available from Peach Bowl Park for your convenience.
