Description
Learn Cyanotype - a photographic printing process that uses sunlight to create beautiful images printed right onto paper or fabric - one of the first forms of photography!
Over the course of the session, participants will learn the cyanotype process from start to finish—beginning with how to mix their own chemicals, coat materials with photosensitive emulsion, and create contact prints outside in the sun. With an attitude of playfulness and experimentation, we will print with found objects, plant life, drawings, cut-outs, photographs and anything else we can think up. We will also discuss options for further exploration.
Participants can expect to leave with a series of original cyanotype prints on paper and/or fabric, and the skills necessary to continue exploring the medium on your own. We encourage you to wear comfortable shoes, and clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet or messy.
