Description
The Palisade Historical Society’s monthly history talk at the Ordinary Fellow Winery, 202 Peach Avenue in Palisade, will be local author Joe Zeni's presentation: Whoopin' it up in the Grand Valley in the Early 1900s. What was Entertainment like over a hundred years ago in the Grand Valley? Learn about what your great-grandparents would have “gone wild” over back-in-the-day and what lengths they would have gone to in adding a little spice to their lives on the western slope. Joe Zeni is a longtime resident of Grand Junction, a retired school teacher and a continuing student of history. He spends his time volunteering at the Museum of the West and Cross Orchards and throws in a few other unpaid gigs as well. In 2024 he completed a biography of Grand Junction’s hometown hero Harold Aupperle. This presentation expands on information found in that work. The talk will begin at 6 pm on Thursday, July 17th at The Ordinary Fellow Winery. This program is open to the public in a relaxed and comfortable setting for people to learn about Palisade’s unique history and enjoy a glass of wine. Come early to grab a seat. There is no admission fee, but donations are appreciated.
